More work on the house

We finally finished putting landscape edging on the front of the house. Actually, we ended up about 11 bricks short, so I stopped at Menard's on the way home last week and finished it up Monday evening. We moved some of the dirt pile into the garden area (and reduced the neighborhood children's play area...sorry kids), and now just have to go to the snow dump site and pick up some free wood chips! One of the benefits of living in Osky.In total, this area of the house has 2 1/2 hostas (one is not doing so well). Dad has been buying us clearance perennials slowly and surely, but we haven't picked anything up for this side yet.
Scott was pleased with the kitchen paint job, I think. We picked out flooring tiles that we both like, but don't have time planned for that project yet, so didn't buy them yet. We also bought new handles for all the kitchen cupboards and drawers--all 29 of them! Of course, the ones we really liked were $3.81 each, so we settled on the 84 cent ones.
We also bought a rice paper film for the window to the laundry room. It had been covered with stripey apple wallpaper like the rest of the kitchen, which Mom so nicely took down. We then decided that the laundry room is just too ugly to have a clear view from the kitchen, so now we have the film up! It lets in light, and you can see shapes through it, so it is the best of all worlds.
